Questions: Newspaper (Sept/9/10)

1. What makes a newspaper different from other printed media?

Newspapers usually consist of news around you're home area.

2. What role did the Industrial Revolution play in expanding the readership of newspapers?
The role the Industrial Revolution holds is by making the newspaper more interesting and important; by creating their own untrue stories just to increase their reader status.


3. What kind of relationship did Pullitzer and Hearst have with each other? Why?
Both owned newspapers and wrote articles in their papers. Which consisted of lies, that began a huge conflict with not only themselves but their community. 

4. What is meant by 'Yellow Journalism?'
"Yellow Journalism" is when the journalist has made up the stories that are being printed in the newspaper.


5. When was the Spanish-American war? Who was involved?
The Spanish-American war was held in the year of 1898. Some places that were involved are: Philippines, Guam, and Puerto Rico(to United States). Cuba was seperate. The USA presidant had became involved by making war due to the amount of problems.


5. Including at least one picture, cartoon, or news story in your answer, explain how yellow journalism help initiate the Spanish-American war.




6. What is meant by the term 'Sensationalism' ?
'Sensationalism' means when a community bursts into arguement about a certain event.


7. Would you mind telling a small lie if it meant making a sale or a bit of extra money for yourself?
No, I would not creat a small lie because the lie could turn into something much bigger.
